The movie Deep Water, the upcoming erotic thriller starring Ana de Armas from No Time to Die and Ben Affleck from Justice League, will be released exclusively on Netflix. The film, based on Patricia Highsmith’s 1947 novel of the same name, was removed from 20th Century Studios’ US release calendar earlier this month, ahead of its January 2022 release.
There was no explanation given at the time, leading entertainment publications to speculate whether the film’s production had been delayed or if it was planning to skip cinemas. It turned out to be the latter. No new release date, however, has been announced. In the movie Deep Water, de Armas and Affleck, who began dating shortly after meeting on the set in 2019, play Vic and Melinda Van Allen, a couple who avoids divorce by allowing each other to see other people. Things become complicated, however, when people close to them start dying.
Adrian Lyne Directed
The film, directed by Fatal Attraction’s Adrian Lyne and adapted by Zach Helm (Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium) and Euphoria’s Sam Levinson, has already been delayed several times due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and was originally scheduled to be released in November 2020.
The film is said to star Tracy Letts, Rachel Blanchard, Dash Mihok, Lil Rel Howery, Jacob Elordi, Kristen Connolly, and Jade Fernandez in addition to de Armas and Affleck.
According to Deadline, Hulu will host the episode in the United States, while Amazon Prime Video will be available to viewers worldwide.
