The 28th annual Critics Choice Awards were presented on Sunday, January 15, at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles.
With 14 nominations going into the awards ceremony, The Daniels’ Everything Everywhere All at Once led all films nominated; it won five of them, including Best Picture, Best Director (or Directors in this case), Best Original Screenplay, Best Editing, and Best Supporting Actor for Ke Huy Quan.
However, despite receiving 11 nominations, Steven Spielberg’s The Fabelmans only won one prize, which went to star Gabriel LaBelle for Best Young Actor/Actress.
The remaining films tied The Fabelmans with one win each, while four films tied with two victories each.
Better Call Saul took up three of the five drama TV awards, including Best Drama Series and Best Actor for Bob Odenkirk. Abbott Elementary, which won Best Comedy Series, also brought home a prize for Sheryl Lee Ralph in the Best Supporting Actress category.
The Roku Channel’s Weird: The Al Yankovic Story won Best Movie Made for Television and Best Actor in a Limited Series or Movie Made for Television for Daniel Radcliffe’s performance, while Hulu’s The Dropout won Best Limited Series and Best Actress in a Limited Series or Movie Made for Television for Amanda Seyfried.
