On Nov. 17, renowned character actor Art LaFleur, widely known for The Sandlot and Field of Dreams, passed away.
He was 78 years old.
Shelley LaFleur, the actor’s 43-year-old wife, announced his death on Facebook, stating that he died after a 10-year fight with “Atypical Parkinson’s.”
The actor was born in Indiana and began his career in the 1978 television film Rescue From Gilligan’s Island, followed by a Charlie’s Angels episode. He went on to star in a variety of shows, including M.A.S.H. and From Here to Eternity, as well as Doogie Howser M.D. and The Incredible Hulk.
LaFleur’s roles included a number of TV movies including Two of a Kind, Sometimes I Wonder and The Invisible Woman. On the big screen, LaFleur’s career included performances in Rampage, The Wrong Guys, Keaton’s Cop, The Blob and The Death Warrant. He will be missed.
