The tone is set from the opening minute, when a select few cast members are “found” hanging out in seemingly random locations. Emma Watson is casually browsing a used bookstore, while Matthew Lewis is conversing with a cab driver. Various invitations to attend the reunion are miraculously offered, and we’re whisked away to entirely unplanned occasions where the ensemble reunites for large hugs and brilliant grins.
It does, unlike most Hollywood-produced reunions, establish charm by conjuring a heartfelt sense of the experience that these actors shared. Fans will appreciate this homage to an iconic franchise. I was very moved by this. And I was fascinated by Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint’s reactions to the Harry Potter films.
The Harry Potter Special Episode shows us what happened behind the scenes, how the actors’ friendship grew, how being on the set of Harry Potter became an integral part of their lives, what complications they had to deal with due to the amount of fame and recognition they were receiving at such a young age, and many other things that fans would like to know about their favorite Witches and Wizards.
Currently available for streaming on Amazon Prime, Return to Hogwarts celebrates Harry Potter’s 20th anniversary, transporting us back to a time when we hoped to receive a letter from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry one fine morning, reminding us that we were always capable of creating magic in our own lives, a fact that we often forget as we grow up.
I really enjoyed this one. If you get the chance, definitely check it out.
